A neat-looking game is designed to be a cross between a survival, platformer and the traditional hide-and-seek game
We all remember the time we were little, and we would play hide-and-seek outside with our friends, having the time of our lives until the darkness settled.
If you miss those times but feel like it is inappropriate for a grown-up to play hide-and-seek, then you should give Light Bearers a shot, because regardless of who you are, within the game you are all teddy bears.
The general aim of the game
Light Bearers is a multiplayer asymmetrical hide and seek game where during each round one player is chosen as the Shadow while the other players
play as Light Bears trying to avoid being infected by the Shadow. If the shadow manages to reach you, then you will turn from a Light Bear to a Shadow bear, and you will be able to infect players of your own.
Cat and mouse in a platformer
The object of the game, depending on what side you are on, is to either reach the Light pool, and if all Light Bears do so, they win, but if the Shadow manages to infect all Light Bears within a time limit, the Shadow wins.
Getting to the pool and catching light bears is no easy task since all Bears (Light or Shadow) play in first-person to create a more gripping and adrenaline pumping experience while most Shadows play in third-person to give them situational awareness and a sense of true power.
Getting from one point to another is no easy task, since the game is very fast paced, and it is easy to fall off a ledge and die, so managing acrobatics such as jumping between platforms or triple wall-jumps is essential for a good gameplay experience.
The game allows some degree of character customizations in the form of body presets, outfit options, voice packs and more, so each bear can feel different from one another.
I found you
Light Bearers looks great, plays well and the concept of revitalizing the good old-fashioned hide-and-seek game is welcomed in a marked filled with MMOs, FPS, MOBA, and Battle-Royales.
