Samsung revealed during CES 2019 The Wall 2019, a new 219-inch modular Micro LED screen that can be modified and customized for each user.
Smart TVs are getting bigger and bigger each year. Some of you might remember that Samsung actually revealed The Wall concept back in 2018, but during CES 2019 the company revealed that it’s coming back with an even bigger edition, uninspired called The Wall 2019.
Plopping a huge TV in a living room is not really the way to go, so Samsung figured out that people might want to camouflage it or use it in any other manner when people are not using it. For that purpose, the company integrated numerous designs and styles that can be shown on the display so that it blends with the background much better.
Using Micro LED and a modular design
Samsung presented its new Micro LED technology at CES 2019, and with the help of modular design, the Wall 2019 is most likely Samsung’s most ambitious project.
“The Wall 2019 achieves richer picture quality, thanks to AI-Upscaling technology and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The screen is also equipped with enhanced lifestyle features that can transform a room in moments. The customizable UX allows users to create a Feature Wall when the screen is turned off by choosing a picture, painting or piece of framed art that best suits their tastes,” Samsung says.
The fact that The Wall uses a modular design also helps if you want to rearrange the pieces in different ways. Users can choose the usual 16:9 ration, but they can also modify it for a 21:9 ratio. The screen is controlled with a dedicated tabled that allows various styles to be represented.
Furthermore, it’s worth pointing out that the display doesn’t have any kind of bezels, which makes it rather unique in its category. Users will also get access to a smaller, 75-inch version of The Wall 2019.
For now, Samsung has not provided a price or a launch date, but the company wants to make it available in 2019, as the name already suggests.
